Engineering Manager

What you will do:

  • Work closely with the Engineering Management Team to plan, coordinate, and direct engineering projects for specified NEP facilities.
  • Supervise and direct Engineers in Charge (EIC) and Mobile Unit Engineers in the repair and maintenance of NEP facility operations.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to the Engineering team related to performance management, talent development, and employee relations.
  • Develop operational efficiencies, cost control strategies, technological enhancements, and customer service initiatives crucial to the growth of the business.
  • Pursue and secure the development of new technologies by manufacturers and vendors.
  • Plan, design, and operate all installations.
  • Ensure the smooth workflow of the maintenance group as it relates to the needs of mobile unit and facility operations.
  • Review technical reports to ensure equipment needs/issues are met and resolved.
  • Coordinate equipment requirements for large scale events by working closely with the Inventory and Field Shop teams.
  • Assist with providing technical support for new facility builds and system upgrades, in cooperation with the Engineering and Systems Integration teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Technical or B.S./Electronics field or Engineering preferred, however various combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience working in television production technology with progressive managerial responsibility.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technology, equipment, facilities, and production for major commercial and cable television networks.
  • Supervisory experience required, including project coordination, sales support, and other related activity.
  • Must be able to interface and communicate well with both clients and staff and provide a high level of service and support.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in high-pressure situations.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to NEP’s office locations, client meetings, and live events when necessary.
