TFC Network Support Engineer

Department: US Mobile Units
Location: Ponte Vedra, FL

Purpose

We are seeking a talented and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing our network infrastructure to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify network requirements, propose solutions, and implement best practices to meet business objectives. This role is based out of Ponte Vedra, Florida but some travel within the US will be required. Key duties include:

  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking devices.

  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and QoS.

  • Implement security measures to protect the network against cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.

  • Plan and execute network upgrades, migrations, and expansions to support business growth and technological advancements.

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, helpdesk staff, and other IT teams to resolve network-related issues and inquiries.

Required skills and attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.

  • Hands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.

  • Proficiency in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.) are a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of broadcasting software and technologies, including automation systems, playout servers, scheduling software, and content management systems (CMS).

  • Knowledge of broadcast standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., SMPTE 2110, ATSC, FCC) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with database management systems and distributed computing environments – we currently use MySQL, RabbitMQ and Kubernetes at the heart of our platform.
