Senior Electrician

Purpose:
The purpose of this position is the installation of electrical and control systems as well as troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, renovating, and modifying electrical systems for NEP Systems Integration. The Electrician will perform all necessary activities at NEP SI or other locations if needed to meet the requirements of the Systems Integration team, NEP, and clients, meeting all applicable rules, regulations and codes while upholding the NEP Core Values.


Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
•Applies knowledge of electrical principles, regulations, codes, and techniques in the construction of electrical systems
•Install new equipment as well as determine equipment and systems malfunctions and apply skills in restoring to operation.
•Read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings, project plans, scope documents and timelines.
•Assemble and fabricate electrical power and monitoring systems, distribution panels, and other system components as determined by the Engineering design team, Supervisor, Project leads, etc.
•Run main and branch circuits, install distribution panels, control wiring and any tasks as needed for new construction projects and renovations.
•Work closely with the System and Mechanical design teams to implement designs and assist with constant improvement.
•Informs appropriate management, design teams and equipment operators of potential problems and inherent dangers along with providing constructive options for improvement.
•Work in coordination with the design team, Project manager and coordinator, supervisor, other construction and maintenance personnel to keep projects on schedule.
•Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
•Plans for projects in advance by ordering materials and managing all projects and tasks effectively and performing them efficiently.


Position Requirements:
•Technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent years experience.
•10 years of experience as a commercial/industrial electrician.
•A thorough knowledge of electrical components and equipment ranging from 12vdc to 208v 3ph. AC.
•Must be highly safety conscious.
•Must have knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA and OSHA. California Electrical Codes and CSA standards are seen as a plus.
•Must be able to work in a team environment and interface and communicate well with others.
•Must be available to work overtime, and at times, may be required.
•Willingness to deliver superior service and build lasting relationships.
•Capable of lifting/moving 100 lbs.
