We are seeking a highly trained / seasoned Solutions Architect and experienced Broadcast Design Engineer. This person will have the ability to support permanent and semi-permanent systems installations for clients technical needs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Broadcast and Design engineering. While representing the Engineering department, this role works seamlessly with the Sales department to support the design of customers’ projects from concept to final drawings.
We would prefer this person to be able to work out of our Grapevine, TX location, however we will consider strong candidates that can either work hybrid or possibly remote. This is a Full-Time Salaried position that requires some travel to sites and our Grapevine, TX office location as needed.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Works with Sales and Clients to Design a system that will support the clients’ needs.
- Has the ability to create a complete Project Design which will be turn over to the client
- Works with the Project Engineer and Project Manager in the planning of the installation for equipment required, labor needed, and supplies needed.
- Responsible for developing pre-sale Build of Materials.
- Creates, modifies and reads CAD drawings for project related documentation.
- Develops detailed engineering drawings for rack layout, system wiring and custom plates or cabling assemblies.
- Assists Sales in developing a thorough and concise job scope.
- Maintains awareness of emerging solutions and technologies that may be applied to solutions.
- Responsible for seeing that a pre-sale site survey is accomplished.
- Develops cable pull lists when required.
- Assists technicians with field questions and clarifications
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering is preferred or a thorough and demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques is preferred.
- Minimum Ten (10) years of broadcast engineering experience is required.
- Experience with SMPTE 2110 integrations, to include PTP, and NMOS knowledge.
- Uses considerable judgment, independent action and initiative to analyze and resolve problems and make or develop recommendations.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage, direct and supervise staff.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills, ability to prepare and present presentations to clients and various levels of employee populations.
- Demonstrates high level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle stressful situation; makes effective decisions under the pressure of time and with limited information.
- Moderate amount of travel required, including occasional travel to other NEP facilities, customer and vendor sites and industry events.
