We are seeking a seasoned Fiber Optic Technician for a full-time position on-site at our Van Nuys, CA facility. The Fiber Optic Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and telecommunications equipment. This candidate will have minimum 5 year's of experience working with fiber optic cables, splicing fibers, and testing network systems in a similar capacity. The Fiber technician will assemble, maintain, test, and repair fiber optic cables. They will assist with all aspects of fiber optic cables and related equipment within the Fiber Department. The ideal candidate will have worked with Fiber in Broadcast or in the telecommunications industry for a minimum 5 years.

This is an hourly position onsite Monday - Friday at our Van Nuys, CA facility. The pay range varies on experience between $30 - $35 per hour. We will only consider candidates with minimum 5 year's with comparable Fiber Optic Technician experience. There may be overtime as needed.

Key duties include:

• Assemble, maintain, and repair fiber optic cables and connectors
• Perform testing of cable and equipment
• Test functionality of “house” fiber systems used with our equipment
• Skillset should include: Single-mode / Multi-mode / LC/SC connectors / Splicing / cleaning

Requirements:

• Experience with an OTDR reader
• Prefer SMPTE experience
• Associates or Technical Degree preferred
• Prior experience working with broadcast equipment and technology desired
• Strong trouble shooting skills
• Proven experience working with Fiber Optic Cables
• Some travel may be required to show sites
